This was a Post someone made over at my forum and i thought it was a great start for this site… Happy Keg Forum
There is a book being made, titled Vulgar Display Of Power, its about the Alrosa Villa tragedy that happened December 8th 2004. For those not familiar with this date or what happened, this is the night a crazed ex-marine piece of fuck stormed the stage at the Alrosa while Damageplan was playing. The said fuck pulled out a gun and shot Dimebag Darrell five times in the head, then taking aim at anyone who interfered with his “mission.” The other lives taken too soon were Nathan Bray, who got on stage to help stop the sick fuck, Erin Halk, security at the club and head of security for Damageplan Jeff “Mayhem” Thompson. Officer James Niggemeyer took the stage minutes after 911 calls and ended the waste of life with a single shotgun blast to the face.
The author of this book went to extreme lengths to get interviews with family members, fans, band mates, or anyone involved and to those who denied him, which is most of the people he asked for an interview, he gave them grief.
This book is not authorized by the Pantera or Damageplan members or family. The funds from the book go only to the author/publisher, not to the Dimebag Memorial Fund, or any worthy cause. The asshole even has a promo video for the book and it starts off with audio from an interview with Pantera singer Phil Anselmo slamming Dimebag, saying that he deserves to be beaten. Phil’s remarks had nothing to do with the tragedy, as the gunman was confirmed by Cincinnati police officials to be the same man that attempted to assault Dimebag at a different show months before the Alrosa tragedy and Phil’s interview. There are also crime scene pictures on this promo video, and I’m sure a lot worse in the book. This book is not necessary for fans of Pantera/Dimebag or those interested in true crime books. This is all horseshit to profit off of the tragedy.
Do not buy this book just because it has something to do with a member of Pantera. It has nothing to do with Pantera, but everything to do with yet another fuck who is trying to milk money from fans of a fallen music legend.
